The Magic Byron Bay

You won't want to leave

Since I was in Brazil and was looking for places in Australia I was very interested in visiting Byron Bay, not only because there are sublime beaches all along the coast but it's the vibes. I remember seeing some friends that lives in Australia sharing pictures and quotes about there with happiness and I could see with my own eyes why its environment is so cool.

There is a boho and hippie style in the air and you can enjoy the environment to do a meditation, reiki, refine your yoga practice, to eat a organic and fresh food. It's a perfect place to relax, chill and balance your soul.

Byron Bay is also one of the most iconic places in the world to surf. Many australians live there to surf and the contrasting beauty of Byron is a deciding factor in settling into the surfing lifestyle rather than elsewhere.

How was our trip

We spent only 3 days in this magic place (sad because it's a short time). At first time we decided to travel around Gold Coast for 6 days but we changed our mind when we had a look in how close Byron was from there.

So we planned 3 days in Byron and 3 days in Gold Coast.

Actually the Ballina airport is closer than Gold Coast airport, but is not that far from there, it was around 1 hour driving from the airport.

For us only 3 days in Byron wasn't enough and we are missing that place a lot. We are going to back as soon as we can! I recommend you to spend one week (or maybe two😱) to enjoy the Byron's environment and relax to have good times there.

Acommodation

The beach house is situated just a short walk through the sand dunes to Tallows Beach and they provide bikes for free to ride for the main beach or the other stunning beaches.

The room is good and you can choose when you will book if want private ensuites or with shared bathroom facilities. The guest house has large verandahs and a comfortable lounge room with TV, magazines and books.

They also provide a delicious breakfast with coffee, bread, jelly, cakes and fruits included in your stay.

Sights in Byron Bay

- Main beach - Immediately in front of town, there are many restaurants, stores, places to rent surfboards, coffee shops, markets etc. The beach is beautiful but there is a lot of people.

- The Pass - I loved this beach, there are great views, the ocean has a crystal clear water and you can enjoy a surf day! I had a lot of fun surfing there.

- Cape Byron Lighthouse - This 1901 lighthouse is Australia’s most easterly point! We walked along the coast and to watch the sunset 🌅. Perfect and stunning views!

- Tallows beach - Tallow Beach is a deserted sandy stretch that extends for 7km south from Cape Byron. Dolphin sightings are common.

- Belongil beach - wild has high dunes and avoids the worst of the crowds. Lovely beach.

- Watego's beach - east of main beach, dolphin sightings are common.

There's a lot more to see there!!! But those places are unmissable!!!

Pubs and Restaurants

- Raiway Friendly Bar - Don't miss to order a local beer Stone Wood

- Treehouse on Belongil - for pizza and beers 🍕🍺🍻

Have a look on the gallery and definitely put Byron in your Bucket list!🌎🌴🌻🇦🇺
