Magical Weekend Retreat in Sydney - Billabong Retreat

Just a week before Christmas, Bruno and I escaped to a wonderful retreat, just 45 minutes from Sydney. It was a very important weekend to get disconnected from the work routine, technology, noises, stress, especially at the end of the year. It was a gift to our soul spend one weekend at Billabong Retreat.

We planned to stay for a weekend, so we left Sydney on Friday afternoon and took a super easy train from Central to Vineyard Station. When we arrived, we were picked up and driven by 10 min transfer to the Billabong Retreat. Within minutes I could feel all the peace, relaxation, contact with nature that seemed to be thousands of miles from Sydney. What a blessing, such a beautiful place!

There are a variety of Retreat Programs to connect mind, body, breath as well as nourish your body with organic and healthy meals, managing stress with yoga, meditation and other activities as massage, facial, naturopathy and reik. We were lucky enough to experience the Yoga Essentials program (Friday to Sunday). We were able to experience how much time we have to connect with what really matters and how to value simple things like breathing properly without anxiety and also to nourish our body, giving more importance to the impact that the food we eat makes with our health.

This program includes twice daily yoga flow classes plus special yoga workshops each day and evening meditation every other day.

The place where the practices are held is absolutely beautiful, with an amazing view to the bush.

How does it works?

Billabong provides everything you need to relax deeply and take care of your mind and body during the program which includes:

• 07:00 am - Yoga (for everybody - beginners and all levels)

• 12:00 pm - Lunch

• 03:30 pm - Yoga

• 03:00 am - Afternoon tea available

• 06:00 pm - Dinner

• 07:00 pm - Meditation and Movie night

You can start your day with a yoga practice, which can be done by any level of yoga knowledge to start your day in the best way. Then all the group go for an amazing healthy and full of nutrients breakfast. At 9:15 there is a yoga workshop activity and until the lunch time you can enjoy a free time swimming at the billabong or even at the pool, read a book or do a massage or any treatment at the wellness centre. By the way - the best massage of my life!!!

The lunch time is awesome! The food is prepared by the amazing chefs from Billabong that calls everybody to a chat and to enjoy the time together explaining the importance of eat with quality, be present and grateful, always! All meals are made with organic food and they are all vegetarian. Simply delightful! I felt better, my digestion was perfect and I could taste different vegetarian meals really delicious!

In the afternoon another class of yoga is provided for all and it’s more relaxed with stretching and breathes exercises.

The afternoon tea and dinner is on point! You have everything to balance your body and mind during all day! After this time you can do a meditation class or watch a movie in the next day. The times are perfect for you go to bed earlier, take a rest and wake up full of energy.

A Dream Tree House Cabin

I love the experience at the tree houses! It is like a dream stay into the bush and you can stay connected with the nature. We stayed at the Treehouse Ensuite Double with their own entrance, private balcony and great views over the water. It’s peaceful! We could stay relaxed, comfy and cozy by the ecodownunder linen beds.

There is no wi-fi at Billabong Retreat, but don’t worry! As they said, you can find a better connexion to yourself!
