Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk - Best Sydney Walks

Hey guys!

I decided to write about a thing that I love most in Sydney: its Coastal Walks! Since when I arrived here I fell in love with the first walk that I've done: Bondi to Coogee and then I tried so many different walks around Sydney and I reckon it's time to share some tips with you here! :)

I will start with my favourite Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk in this post because it was my first in Sydney and I couldn't love any other more than this one! If you're not tourist and live in Sydney, I believe you already know this walk like myself but you can enjoy my photos and views in the same way :)

Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk

It's a must if you're visiting Sydney! It's a classic and it is one of Sydney's postcard experiences.

This walking path connects Bondi Beach and Coogee Beach and it's a great, easy walk of 6km distance and you can do it in about 2-3 hours return.

You can start from Bondi Icebergs, enjoying the beautiful views over Bondi Beach before turning around the corner towards Mackenzies Bay. From there it’s only a short stroll to Tamarama Beach. The beach is lovely, small and great for surfing. Follow the coastline further south to Bronte Beach, less than 1km from Tamarama. Bronte has excellent BBQ and picnic facilities right behind the beach, is a very family friendly place. The next path is the the famous Waverley Cemetery by the sea and it ends right where Clovelly starts. Clovelly is a charming beach-side suburb with lovely beach, lawn bowls club and a large parking area. Next stop is Gordons Bay, a small oasis, between Clovelly and Coogee. The bay is only accessible via the coastal walk. Besides fishing, Gordons Bay is also amazing for divers and snorkelers.

Before heading into Coogee, it’s worth checking out the memorial for the victims of the 2002 Bali bombings and the famous Giles Gym and Baths, a stunning area and views! And finally we can chill at Coogee Beach, a very popular, wonderful and relaxing place. Located right behind the beach, there is the Goldstein Reserve, the large parkland area with lots of tables, barbecues and picnic areas!

Transport: Bondi has parking areas close to the beach. There is limited free street parking. Coogee has paid parking and free parking at Trenerry Reserve. Plenty of buses run between Coogee and Bondi.

Oceanic Pools

At the southern end of Bondi Beach, the famous Bondi Baths is a spectacular spot for a swim. The ocean pool is next to Bondi Icebergs, which has restaurants, bars and a cafe.

On the way from Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk you can stop at the Bronte Baths, perched right on the edge of Bronte Beach. At Coogee Beach are Wylie’s Baths and McIver's Baths, which is the only remaining women’s and children’s only ocean pool in Australia, dating back to 1886.

Even during the winter, Sydney is amazing to enjoy the beach life!
